What does it take to start a home-based business?

With these tough economic times everyone is looking at ways to earn a few extra dollars. Exploring a person’s skills, abilities, or talents might lead to a potential business opportunity either to produce a product or offer a service. Have you thought about starting a home-based business? Probably the first question that needs to be asked is if there is a market need for the product or service. How far will that market extend? Does the potential reach far beyond the local area to the state, to a region of states, nationally or internationally? The next question involves the ability of the person to operate this business. Successful entrepreneurs have many of the following traits: are self starters, get along well with others, has the ability to make good decisions, has physical and emotional strength to run the business, is organized, stays motivated, can work alone and can blend with their family.
